The National Alliance of Community Forest Associations (NACOFA) recently had a workshop aimed at crafting a strategic plan to guide the umbrella group for the next few years. The forum was organized by through the EMPAFORM programme and ran for three days.
During the workshop facilitated by Dr. Thuita Thenya and Michael Gachanja, both key figures in forest management, the members looked afresh at the alliance’s focus with an eye on positioning it for a central role in the ongoing forestry sector reforms. The members redefined the mission, vision and objectives of the alliance as well as charting a new strategic direction.
