FAN at the W orld S ocial Forum :

When the World Social Forum came calling in Nairobi in January 2007, FAN was there to showcase to the world the great strides it has made in environmental management. Through the kind support of MS Kenya, FAN had a stand at the forum which began with a march at Uhuru park on the 20 th of January followed by the various talks, seminars and organisational displays at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani. It officially came to a close on the 25 th of January.

During the forum whose theme was ‘Another World in Possible', over 800 workshops, events and sessions were held. These were sessions that organisations or networks had registered and organised on their own. The events aimed at presenting their work and to discuss them with members of the global civil society.

There were also co-organised events, which in effect were bigger sessions which WSF secretariat had helped organise. The themes chosen for these big sessions were to reflect the ongoing struggles for civil society and the themes that need to be addressed to achieve another world. Over 50,000 delegates attended the forum over the six days.
