A few months shy of its 15th birthday, FAN has achieved a great milestone in its growth by finally acquiring and occupying its own premises. This is the culmination of over 10 years of forward planning and painstaking savings. FAN moved from its rented premises along Muiri lane, which has been its home for close to 9 years, to its new home along Muiri road just a stone throw away at the end of March 2009. With its immaculately manicured lawn and serene surroundings, FAN has indeed ensconced itself in a worthy home fitting its stature as an internationally recognized organization.
According to the FAN director, Dr. Dominic Walubengo, this is a culmination of lots of effort within the organization but with precious input from various partners. Indeed, several rooms have been named after the countries from which key partners who have supported the organization over the years hail. The rooms include Kenya, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden among others.
Unlike the former office which had less office space, all staff are housed within one building thus creating a more wholesome atmosphere. Finishing touches are still being applied to various parts of the office even as staff are fully settling in. With the matter of its home sorted out, FAN can now focus all its energies in working fro people and forests.
