It was established in 2001 to serve the communities living adjacent to the Mau Forest together with scholars and students from the nearby schools and institutions. As earlier stated this is the only resource centre that FAN directly manages. This resource centre apart from being an information hub in the region it also runs two tree nurseries in Njoro and Nakuru towns. These nurseries have a wide range of tree, herbs and flower seedlings especially the much sought after Eucalyptus grandis and the Giant Bamboo.
